A Word From Our Principal
Welcome to Benjamin Franklin School, home of the Falcons! My name is Shawnna Derache and I am thrilled to be the Principal at Franklin! I come to Franklin with 32 years of experience in Anaheim Elementary School District and this is my eleventh year as a site principal. In addition, we welcome our new Vice Principal, Dr. Jenny Hitchcock to the Franklin staff. We look forward to meeting you and working together to support our incredible students!
Our Franklin family consists of an extremely dedicated staff which promotes nurturing relationships and academic excellence in a positive and inclusive environment. They are committed to ensuring that our students learn, grow and thrive while in our care.
We are pleased to announce that Franklin is a Community School this year! Our Community School Program offers integrated student support, expanded enrichment opportunities, family and community engagement events, and collaborative leadership practices. Please look for announcements of upcoming community events on our Franklin Parent Square platform.
Thank you for your continued patience, kindness, and safety during arrival and dismissal times. It is important to remember not to double park on Water Street. We want to keep our students as safe as possible!
At Franklin School, we value a strong home-school connection. We encourage you to contact us with any questions you may have. We look forward to an outstanding school year!!
