Patrick Henry Elementary School

A Word From Our Principal

I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to you on behalf of Patrick Henry Elementary School. Here at Henry, our mission is to cultivate safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environments where we celebrate individual strengths to foster a culture of collective growth and knowledge sharing. Our unwavering commitment is to elevate educational opportunities for all our students by delivering rigorous, pertinent, and captivating learning experiences.

At our school, every child embarks on a educational journey encompassing science, technology, engineering, art, and math—integrated seamlessly with the Common Core standards. It is a privilege for us to engage with your scholars daily, as we firmly believe that each student possesses unique talents to enrich our thriving learning community.

Our primary objective is to equip our students with the tools they need to surpass even their highest expectations in life.

Patrick Henry Elementary School offers an array of enriching programs aimed at nurturing responsible citizens, adept problem solvers, bold risk-takers, and culturally diverse contributors to our broader community. Notably, we are pleased to provide every student with their personal Chromebook, ensuring access to cutting-edge technology. Additionally, music instruction is integral to our curriculum, and students in 5th and 6th grades have the opportunity to explore instrumental music. We also have a top tier intervention program to ensure each student gets tailored lessons tied to their individual learning goals. Beyond the school day, we offer students access to extended learning opportunities including Panther Hub and Anaheim Achieves.

Furthermore, Henry proudly hosts a Dual Language Academy spanning from Kindergarten through 4th grade. This unique program guides students on a journey to bilingual literacy, where they learn to speak, read, and write in Spanish while maintaining a rigorous academic program in English.

At Henry, we are advocates of family involvement, recognizing its profound impact on student achievement, well-being, and a sense of belonging. We have forged a strong and inspiring partnership among classrooms, schools, homes, and communities. Our PTA offers numerous opportunities for parents to volunteer their time in support of school-wide events. Moreover, our Parent Leadership Institute (PLI) continues to excel in developing classes and workshops for our community members, with the aim of enhancing the capacity of our families. Mrs. Mullen and myself are happy to serve you and provide valuable resources to support your family’s involvement.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support in your scholar’s educational journey. Together, we will ensure students are learning and achieving at high levels each day.

School & District Parent & Family Engagement Policies 2022-2023

Research indicates that Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) help children achieve high academic standards. When schools work together with parents in school activities, and both schools and families engage in shared decision making regarding children’s education, students are more likely to acquire literacy at faster rates.

The links below contain the AESD and Parent & Family Engagement Policies. The policies are jointly developed with parents to establish objectives for meaningful parent and family involvement. (20 U.S.C. sections 6312, 6318[a][2])
