Edison Elementary School
A Word From Our Principal
Welcome to Edison Elementary!
Happy 2023-2024 School Year! We are so glad to have each and every one of you as part of our Edison Family. Our staff has been working hard to prepare an engaging, well-rounded standards based instructional program to meet the needs of all students. Edison Elementary is a fantastic school community where children learn and grow, supported by caring adults. Because children come to us with a variety of needs, challenges, and talents all their own, we first try to get to know each child and each parent to create a positive nurturing relationship. These trusting relationships make learning much more interesting, engaging, and fun. We strongly believe school should always be a safe place that children enjoy coming to each and every day and are supported, whatever that may be, to meet their needs.
Please remember to be kind, patient, and understanding during this time of major construction of our new library/makerspace building on our campus.
Edison… It’s a GREAT place to be!
Sincerely,
Ms. Suzanne Nichols
Edison Principal

School & District Parent & Family Engagement Policies 2022-2023
Research indicates that Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) help children achieve high academic standards. When schools work together with parents in school activities, and both schools and families engage in shared decision making regarding children’s education, students are more likely to acquire literacy at faster rates.
The links below contain the AESD and Parent & Family Engagement Policies. The policies are jointly developed with parents to establish objectives for meaningful parent and family involvement. (20 U.S.C. sections 6312, 6318[a][2])
