Mark A. Lopez

Mark Lopez was elected to represent Trustee Area 4 of the Anaheim Elementary School District in November 2018. An educator at the Anaheim Union High School District, Mark earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton and his Education Specialist teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach.

Prior to entering the teaching profession, Mark worked at the County of Orange for a decade, serving as a policy advisor at the Orange County Board of Supervisors. While there, he attained local government experience in budgeting, pensions and land use. Collaborating with representatives from various levels of government, Mark helped to achieve consensus on countywide and regional policies such as the OC Loop, a 66-mile bike and pedestrian trail nearing completion in Orange County. In addition, Mark also served as a liaison between 600,000 residents in north Orange County, including most of Anaheim, and the County of Orange government.

Mark previously served on the Anaheim Budget Commission, Anaheim Sister City Commission and Orange County Historical Commission.

Trustee Area 4 includes Olive Street, Orange Grove, Ponderosa, Paul Revere, and Theodore Roosevelt elementary schools.
