A Word From Our Principal

Dear Juarez Parents and Scholars,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Juarez Elementary School!  For returning families, I look forward to seeing you all and continuing to serve you, your children, and the entire Juarez Elementary community.  For families new to Juarez, I am excited to meet you and your child, and know that we are all here to support your child in transitioning to our amazing school.  Our staff and school community are all committed to providing the best educational experience possible for your child here at Juarez.  Please let us know how we can support you.

I am very happy to introduce to you all our new vice principal, Mr. Jim Kelly. Mr. Kelly comes to us from Stoddard Elementary where he served as a vice principal.  He is very eager to work with the entire school community to support the academic and social emotional growth of each of our Juarez students.  Please take time to introduce yourselves to him when you see him around campus.

Everyday at Juarez we are committed to providing the best education for your child.  This year our theme will be: “You belong at Juarez.”  Our wonderful Juarez teachers will be working very hard to develop a strong sense of belonging among their students through social emotional activities.   Teachers will also be working on developing 21st century skills in every child so they can be successful in life.  Some of these skills include critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving.  We are excited to build on our work in language and literacy in English and Spanish with a focus on strengthening our students’ skills in having collaborative conversations.   This instructional focus, along with continued implementation of our character development program are ways that Juarez can continue to build those critical skills in your child.

We cannot do the work we do without you, and each year we strive to strengthen our home-school partnership.  I welcome you all to attend a coffee chat, school site council meeting, PTA meeting, or attend a Family Friday.  We are so fortunate to have a wonderful parent and school community, and your support makes such a difference.  Thank you for your continued help in making Juarez an amazing place for students and families to grow and learn.

The Juarez Staff is ready to work and assist you with anything you need.   Please let us know how we can serve your family’s educational needs in the coming school year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Nilsson
