Register for the Financial Literacy webinar via Zoom. The event will be livestreamed on the CDE Facebook page. More information can be found in a recent letter that was sent to LEAs.

Back to School Parent Town Hall

Calling all California parents! Save the date to join State Superintendent Thurmond on Wednesday, September 28, at 6 p.m. for a virtual Back to School Parent Town Hall conversation. As schools across the state struggle with challenges like declining enrollment, the California Department of Education (CDE) is interested in hearing from families about their school experiences and will use this Town Hall to ask questions and survey participants to elicit their ideas about ways to improve the public school experience, close the opportunity gap, and improve academic success for all students. Participants will also learn what the CDE is doing to support schools with health and safety, literacy, enrollment, and more. Please share the flyer and information, available in English and Spanish, with parents in your jurisdiction. Parents and caregivers can register for the town hall in advance by completing a pre-registration survey form. More information can be found on the CDE webpage.
