A Word From Our Principal
Dear Clara Barton Families,
Welcome to another wonderful school year at Clara Barton Elementary! I’m Mrs. Sandy Bartoldus, your principal, and I am so excited to continue this journey with all of you. Our school now includes classes from preschool through 6th grade, and we are thrilled to have all our students and families as part of our vibrant community.
At Clara Barton, we focus on getting 1% better every day. We believe that small, consistent steps lead to significant growth over time. This approach helps us support every student in achieving their personal best in a nurturing and encouraging environment.
As I begin my 4th year as principal, I am incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made together. I am also excited to introduce our new interim vice principal, Ms. Murguia, who brings a lot of enthusiasm and expertise to our school.

Attendance
Attention all Students and Families!
We are thrilled to announce our school’s attendance goal for this year. Our aim is to achieve an attendance rate of 97% or higher.
Why is attendance so important?
Attending school regularly not only ensures that students don’t miss out on valuable instruction, but it also helps them develop vital skills, build strong relationships, and create a positive school culture. By being present every day, our students can maximize their learning potential and create a solid foundation for their future success.

Below you will find the scheduled Virtual School Site Council (SSC) meetings. The SSC/ELAC meeting agendas will be posted 72 hours before the meeting date. Meeting minutes will be posted after each meeting.
Meeting Dates
Open Enrollment for 2025-2026 School Year
Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year will begin on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at all school sites during Saturday School. Families can begin the enrollment process by clicking here: AESD Enrollment Website or stop by the school office where computers are available.
Prepare for enrollment for your preschool/TK/ or Kindergarten scholar by gathering the following documents:
- A certified copy of a birth certificate, a duly attested baptism certificate, or a passport
- Immunization Record
- Proof of address within the last 30 days as required on the Residence Verification form.
Please note: all students that turn 4 years old by September 1, 2025, may enroll for Transitional Kindergarten. All students that turn 5 years old by September 1, 2025, will be enrolled in Kindergarten. We look forward to assisting you with the enrollment of your child for the 2025-2026 school year!
