Volunteer

Early and consistent parental involvement helps children do well academically. Parents/guardians and extended family are encouraged and welcomed to become involved in the formal education of their children by volunteering at their child’s school site.

Purpose of the AESD Volunteer Program

The purpose of the Anaheim Elementary School District volunteer program is to enhance educational and support services to our school community. 

Volunteers contribute to schools and the district in the following ways:

  •    Enriching the school experience for students and staff
  •    Assisting with school and community activities
  •    Promoting partnerships between the school, District, community and home
  •    Serving as positive role models for students
  •    Facilitate District/School Site Parent Meetings/Workshops

In the Anaheim Elementary School District, we pride ourselves in providing an e²STEAM-D education for all our students. Volunteers support this goal by enhancing the experience of the child. There are various ways to volunteer, but all actions benefit the students’ academic and social and emotional growth.

Becoming an AESD Volunteer

In order to provide a safe and educational environment for all our TK-6 students, the following volunteer documentation will be required of all volunteers while conducting district activities.

Requires: Volunteer Commitment Form✅
Requires: Annual Mandated Reporter Training✅
*Some District activities and programs may have additional requirements beyond these listed.
*To volunteer and support students in the classroom, contact your student's teacher for more information.

AESD EMPLOYEES who wish to be considered volunteers outside of their work hours, need to apply online and upload picture of their AESD employee badge.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS who need to complete community service hours or who would like to volunteer do not require an application. They will need an approval by the site administrator and work under the supervision of an AESD employee.

COLLEGE OBSERVERS who wish to complete their observation or field work hours must make an appointment with site administrator to receive approval and assignment. All college observers must be under the supervision of an AESD Employee at all times.

Field Trips

Parents are welcome to attend field trips and parent engagement opportunities as a visitor at a school site.

Please follow check in procedures in the front office.

Need help completing your mandated reporter training? We’re here to help!

Join us at one of our upcoming support sessions at SFACE located at 2000 W. Ball Road, Anaheim, CA 92804.

Our SFACE staff will guide you through:

  1. Mandated Reporter Training
  2. Volunteer Application
  3. Volunteer Onboarding Process

Please allow at least an hour and a half to complete the training and volunteer application process.
