AES! Soccer League

Anaheim Elementary Soccer Club

Growth Through Equity

Before the implementation of the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P), the AESD soccer program was a modest but spirited endeavor with only 4 schools hosting after-school soccer games.  The 2022-2023 school year marked a significant expansion of the soccer program, thanks to ELO-P funding. Participation increased to 11 schools and staff coaches were hired.  Through our community partnerships with the City of Anaheim and OC Soccer Club, we now have full participation from all 23 school sites, approximately 987 scholars playing soccer.

The 2023-2024 Soccer Championship and Third Place match was hosted at Glover Stadium of Anaheim.  This culminating event also showcased Anaheim Elementary Succeeds! pep bands, cheerleading squads and approximately 180 student baile folklorico dancers who performed for an audience of about 1,400 AESD students, families and staff.

AESD takes pride in our Anaheim Elementary Soccer League’s success! It has truly blossomed into a robust and dynamic initiative, fostering community spirit, providing extensive opportunities for student engagement, and ensuring a well-supported, professionally managed sports environment for elementary students.
