Welcome to Guinn Elementary School

A Word From Our Principal

Principal - Carlos Perez
August 9, 2018 Dear Parent or Guardian: My name is Dr. Carlos F. Perez and it is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of James Guinn Elementary School for the 2018-2019 school year. I possess over 21 years of educational experience spanning grades K-12 with a specific concentration in curriculum development, technology integration, and enrichment opportunities for children. My most recent administrative experience was shaped by 3 successful years as the principal of Horace Mann Elementary, here in our district. Prior to that assignment, I served 11 years as an Assistant Principal at Katella and Anaheim High Schools, as well as Sycamore Junior High School, in the Anaheim Union High School District. I am elated to bring my skills as an educational leader to your child’s school and to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s academic success. Along with the staff, we will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at James Guinn by building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. We will focus on social and emotional initiatives, 21st Century skills, fostering a nurturing safe environment for children, use of data to inform instruction, implementation of academic discourse strategies and standards of mathematical practice, (SMP’s) in classrooms, and providing exciting and challenging VAPA enrichment opportunities for all students. We anticipate a most successful year as we support the academic, social, and emotional growth of your child here at James Guinn Elementary School. During the course of the year, it is my hope that we will work together to provide the students of James Guinn the best possible opportunities in preparing them to be world class citizens ready to master the challenges of the 21st Century with a solid foundation created here at our school. As principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in or call to make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the BEST school in America! I look forward to working with you and your child.  Go Eagles!   Sincerely. Carlos F. Perez, Ed.D. cfperez@anaheimelementary.org
