A team of support came to Sunkist Elementary to help plant 4 new trees. Representatives from the non-profit organization, Anaheim Beautiful, the city’s TreePower program, the district’s Maintenance and Grounds Department as well as Sunkist’s PAL and Student Council came together to share the experience of planting trees correctly.

Students listened to information shared and were reminded of the importance of having trees in our lives. Then, they participated in measuring the hole, removing the tree from its container, replacing the dirt and building a base berm to help in watering.

One student commented, “This is better than a field trip!” another “I just have to tell you, this is great!” For the rest of the school year PAL and Student Council students will be responsible for regularly watering and reminding all to take care of our trees! Sunkist says a big “THANK YOU!” to all who helped to make this a great activity.
