Ponderosa Elementary School

A Word From Our Principal

Welcome to Ponderosa Elementary School, Home of the Pride!

My name is Vidal Valdez, and I am honored to be Ponderosa’s principal. Our school has a tradition of educational excellence. Our teachers have a long history of providing the best possible education to our community, and I am proud to help continue that legacy. My goal is to ensure the continued success of Ponderosa Elementary by working as a team. As principal, it is my primary goal to provide a positive learning environment in which students can excel both academically and socially.

Ponderosa offers opportunities for our parents to participate in our school through the PTA, workshops, and other parent engagement activities. I look forward to meeting as many parents as possible.

School & District Parent & Family Engagement Policies 2022-2023

Research indicates that Parent and Family Engagement (PFE) help children achieve high academic standards. When schools work together with parents in school activities, and both schools and families engage in shared decision making regarding children’s education, students are more likely to acquire literacy at faster rates.

The links below contain the AESD and Parent & Family Engagement Policies. The policies are jointly developed with parents to establish objectives for meaningful parent and family involvement. (20 U.S.C. sections 6312, 6318[a][2])
