6th grade students learn about tobacco Prevention TUPE with the assistance of the OC Lost Chords Assembly

Tobacco Prevention Projects provide tobacco prevention, education, and cessation promotion in the community.

Goals:

  • Reduce tobacco use among youth through community outreach and education at middle schools and high schools
  • Decrease illegal sales of tobacco to minors through merchant education
  • Reduce tobacco use among adults with behavioral health concerns. This is done through educational presentations, smoking cessation resources, and capacity-building trainings at behavioral health facilities, transitional living homes, and re-entry programs.
