Saturday School is an opportunity to make up absences during the trimester and provide our scholars with more opportunities to work on Art, Physical Education Field Activities, Special Projects, and have fun and learn at school. Saturday school hours are from 8:50 – 1:05, scholars are provided a snack and transportation for those already receiving transportation. Saturday school funds help to pay for buses for field trips and other activities that benefit all students at Gauer. Please call the office if you have any questions. Thank you and have a great month!

The English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELPAC) is the required state test for English Language Proficiency (ELP) that must be given to students whose primary language is a language other than English. This assessment period begins February 1 through May 31, 2020.

Schoolwide Instructional Focus

Gauer students have been learning about and putting into practice strategies to promote self-awareness, emotional resilience, and focus using Restorative Practices and Calm Classroom – curriculum to support positive student behaviors. Additionally, teachers will begin a STEAM Certification course for the next four months to further their understanding and utilization of STEAM instructional practices.

We continue to build our knowledge through professional development in the area of Guided Reading, further developing student reading strategies and comprehension.

Focus will also be given to the State ELPAC Language Assessment (March) and SBAC Assessments (April) as they near.
